    What We Will Talk About

Land Acknowledgement: One Settler’s Work-in-Progress Journey in Active Reconciliation

    Facilitator

Alli Marshall, Founder / Principal Consultant, Strix Insights

Alli Marshall is a settler woman, and as she has come to learn, a guest in this country she calls home. Her personal reconciliation journey has been fuelled by her childhood experiences growing up in Chief Drygeese Territory, the traditional home of the Yellowknives Dene, and now homeland of the North Slave Métis Alliance. It took almost 15 years after graduation for her to learn that Akaitcho Hall, the residence connected to her high school, was one of the last residential schools to close in Canada. Land Acknowledgement has been an important part of her personal reconciliation process, and also an important reconcili-action that she supports when gathering clients for online and in-person strategy facilitation and team culture coaching.
