COVID 19 Impact Update: Revenue and Staff
The August edition of the TPG Pulse for Associations reported that professional and trade associations were poised for revenue decreases of 1.6 billion dollars for the 12 months ending March 2021. This latest edition digs deeper into the areas where those losses are occurring and also provides an update on the impact on staffing in the sector.
The results are based on a survey completed by 279 Canadian associations and other not-for-profits between July 22 and July 30, 2020.

I am a lawyer with Gardiner Roberts in Toronto, and I work primarily with non-profit organizations and charities. I love working with this sector: I am amazed and inspired daily by the work that my clients are doing. I joined CSAE to connect with leaders in the sector and to learn from them. Last winter, I attended one of CSAE Trillium’s Young Professionals Networking Group meetings where I met some old colleagues and made new connections. I also spoke at the 2020 Trillium Summit on an issue of board governance. I really enjoyed the energy of the summit and thought that there were some outstanding sessions. I look forward to connecting further with other CSAE members – hopefully in person again, one day!
