Learner’s Digest: May 2020
We’re all learning a lot about living in a virtual space right now. How to stay connected with our teams, how to engage creatively with our members, how to have some fun with friends and family. So much unrelenting adaptation! For those of us moving our live events to a virtual context, we’re learning it’s not just about replicating each element, but rather about exploring the purpose of those elements. What do members gain from a reception? What do they gain from a tradeshow beyond the generous giveaways? There are some great discussions on Associations Connect on topics we’re currently grappling with and I encourage you to head over there for some inspiration and to share your own creative solutions.
CSAE has three exciting longer-format learning opportunities coming your way, providing different approaches to learning in a virtual space. In June, Dr. David Weiss will deliver the Governance Forum as a highly interactive workshop, letting you strategize with your board to ensure you keep delivering for your members through challenging times. In July, the Trillium Summer Summit explores a wide variety of topics over four days. I’m excited to join Rod Zylstra of Industrial to talk about developing the new CSAE website! We’re also very keen to unveil our plans for CSAE 2020: Unprecedented, a whole new concept for the annual conference. Kicking off online in June, with Think Tanks and Solution sessions, elements of conference rolling out over the coming months culminating in the bulk of networking and learning in November. If you are interested in leading a session, we’d love to hear from you.
