• The Nominating Committee (NC) is established as a sub-committee of the Board Development Committee (BDC), a Standing Committee of the CSAE Board of Directors. The NC is therefore accountable to the BDC. The NC operates within the context within the strategic intent of CSAE, the values and expectations of members and the factors critical to the success of the organization.

The NC is responsible for the recruitment and screening of candidates interested in election to the board of directors, and the presentation of a Recommended Slate of Nominees, to ensure that CSAE is governed with excellence and vision. In addition, the NC is responsible for recruitment, screening and recommending committee members for all standing committees of the board.

    Eligibility

All members, in good standing, are eligible to apply.

Non-members are welcome to apply for a position on the committee. If selected, they will be required to obtain CSAE membership prior to attending the first committee meeting.

    How to Apply

CSAE strives to continuously improve its processes to remove barriers to applicants and increase inclusion and accessibility. The following alternatives are available to you when completing an application:

    • There are multiple format options available for applying.  Applicants can provide submissions in writing, via audio or video recording. Those who prefer to have support completing the application may reach out to CSAE for direct assistance.
    • The concept of “experience” relative to the needs of the committee are being expanded, to better consider the value of an applicant’s lived experience.
    • Non-members are welcome to apply for a position on the committee.  If selected, they will be required to obtain CSAE membership prior to attending the first committee meeting.  (A limited number of complimentary memberships will be available to those from equity-deserving groups to support their ability to join the membership).

These changes are a work in progress. They will be evaluated and future adjustments may be made with an eye to continuous improvement.
